Rorra

The Rorra Countertop System for Rorra is a countertop water filtration system that’s made in medical grade stainless steel, doesn’t come in contact with plastics and significantly reduces a wide spectrum of harmful contaminants. A lofty goal from the start, the design team leaned into futuristic typologies to create a water filtration system that's bold in both form and function.

The handle takes inspiration from a beer tap handle but with a space-age twist.

The silhouette is soft, future forward and capsule-like. Mimicking the water inside, the form flows and blends into any environment. Inside and out, it’s a sophisticated ecosystem that filters your water and protects it. We paid special attention to the top section of the product, the center of the lid has a honed funnel shape, creating an easy way to pour unfiltered water inside and there’s a cap to seal the water from outside dust. The handle takes inspiration from a beer tap handle but with a space-age twist. The tap is designed to be as ergonomic as it is playful - it invites you to drink plenty of water.

The design has a similar architecture to a water tower, water pressure is created by gravity. The filtration system lives in the upper vessel, elevated by pedestal, the tap is at the perfect height for even large water glasses.

The filtration is top notch, filtering your water and giving you confidence in your hydration routine. Together with Rorra, we worked with with the NSF and other NSF Accredited Labs in order to test the system safety and efficacy at reducing a broad spectrum of contaminants, such as Chlorine, Microplastics, PFAS Chemicals, Lead and more.

We designed a stainless steel cap that seals the interior of the product from outside debris.

The unique interior architecture and touch-points required many iterations, the design is meant to be easy to use but also needs to create secure connections for proper filtration.

While the design has gone through many evolutions, the circular shape has been consistent since the early days of the project. A symmetrical cylindrical design was a practical shape for a vessel, but it also grounded the product and allowed us to focus on subtle interventions.
